Sex and Religion

Whether you’re Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist or do not practice any religion there will come a time in your life where you may have to deal with matters involving relationships or sex.

Many people follow religion and it is a great source of happiness and support for them. Some people follow a religion because their family do and it is expected of them. However with different religions having different views on things such as sex before marriage, relationships and contraception, it is easy to feel confused about what to do and what is right in accordance with your faith.

If you are in a situation where relationships or sex conflict with your religious or cultural beliefs, it is important to think about how you feel and what your opinion is. It may also help to speak to someone to help work through your thoughts and feelings.

Sometimes feelings of guilt or shame can be attached to sex and religion. It is important to remember that you are a human being and that love and sex are natural and healthy part of life and is nothing to be ashamed of. Whether you choose to have sex or choose not to because of your beliefs is entirely up to you.
